Couple we add a second "unread posts" button at the bottom of a thread

Post by KJH »

Firstly, let me thank the guys who make this forum work for doing an excellent job. It's a valuable resource, and I am grateful to have found it. All thanks to all the other members whose knowledge is being shared.

I'm relatively new to the Diamond Aircraft forum and I thinking of buying a Diamond aircraft later this year.
I'm trying to absorb as much information as I can by reading almost all the forum posts.
Each time I get to the last post in a particular thread, I have to scroll back to the top of the page to find the "Unread posts" button to display the next thread with unread posts. If the functionality of his button could be duplicated at the bottom of the page as well as the top it would save some time, particularly when the only unread post in a long thread is something like "Yup me too"

Happy to discuss if I've not made my feedback clear, or be told if I've missed a way of doing this

Thanks
Kevin

I've added an "Unread posts" link to the footer section of the forum. Let me know if it's sufficient. It may not show up on smaller screens (although it should be in the "hamburger" menu on the RHS in that case).

I see what Chris added, but there has always been this little button which will take you back to the top of the page.

Brilliant, thanks, it shows up on my phone although quite high res, and just used it.
Thanks again.

That's hilarious! I've read thousands of entries on DAN and posted nearly 500 comments over the past 5 years and I've never used that little arrow

Yes, I've been reading and occasionally commenting for a couple of years and didn't realise about the "little arrow", which would have saved some time. But the extra unread gets it done in one click.

Also now reading on a PC and can confirm the hamburger also works if I narrow the browser.

Thanks again!
