Re: canopy spring broken looking for cross ref part
When one of our springs broke a few years back, I ordered replacements directly from Diamond. Unlike most of the Diamond-unique parts, I did not find these springs to be overpriced. That may have changed though.
I think the same springs may also be used on the C1, so they might be available from one of the Diamond dealers in the lower 48. Certainly would save the international shipping charges.

Re: canopy spring broken looking for cross ref part
Hi Jerry,
I believe I was able to source them directly when one of mine broke a few years ago. I'll look it up next time I get to my hangar. If I remember correctly, the A1 and C1 use the same spring.

Re: canopy spring broken looking for cross ref part
did the spring break in the air? My springs are wrapped with foam however about 1" of the top and bottom of the springs are still exposed. I'm curious if I should put a longer piece of foam around the canopy springs.

John, did you ever determine where you got your replacement springs? I know it's ten years later, but if you can post where we might find them it would be appreciated.

As of late Brittany Jones at Premier has been really helpful in looking up parts for my DA-20A1.

Re: canopy spring broken looking for cross ref part
Hi Alex, just searched my emails, but it looks like I bought it off a company parting out a C1. Sometimes you can get lucky by looking at the diamond parts manuals (for the C1 and A1) and based on their part number you can often find the supplier. I know they source a lot of the other springs and other small parts from Spae-Nauer.
