Hi Danny,
It is good to hear that you are convinced about Diamond products. Surely the diesel engine has many advantages over the Avgas engines.
We currently have our new aircraft a DA62 delivered.
Our original airplane a 2018 DA62 is still for sale. This airplane has been professionally flown has 950 hours total time. We have not experienced any problems with it nor are the engines (Mercedes engines) affected by this AD. It has been flown mainly large flights.
We have been flying Diamond aircraft since 2017. So now our new aircraft, again a DA62.
From Germany we flew to Abu Dhabi, North Cape, Oshkosh, New York, South Africa. Now planning the earthrouding in the DA62.

Re: Concerns about the DA62 and potential alternatives
Greetings everyone - new to the forum but just got my first...a DA62 in the past 2 weeks. I did my IFR in a DA40 and multi in a DA42, planning for the DA62. I absolutely love it...incredible plane and I appreciate all of the experience and input that I am learning from all of you on these forums.

Re: Concerns about the DA62 and potential alternatives
Thank you - yes it is just incredible. Like others, I did have concerns regarding parts and service; however, I am not convinced that is entirely unique to Diamond. I am working on getting our local mechanics at least Diamond-certified, and there are service centers within an hour/hour and half flight away. I'll be going to the one in Salisbury, NC in December for a first check up before the overall warranty expires. I am fortunate to have another owner who lives nearby and is very knowledgeable of the aircraft - he has already given me many many great ideas for the DA62.

Re: Concerns about the DA62 and potential alternatives
That's exactly the same thing that is said on COPA by Cirrus owners, regarding Cirrus.
Maybe a common problem by Chinese owned companies.

My perception is:
Diamond's issues predate selling to China.
Cirrus, was more ambivalent, but worse since selling to China.
