Latest G1000 version for DA42 NG

Hi,

Does anyone know what is the latest G1000 version for the DA42NG? Our version says 0670-10. I was told by the local Garmin representative that this is the latest for our plane however I did see people in this forum mention version 0670-14. When I asked him he said that there are several HW variations of the G1000 and he thinks there is no upgrade to ours.

Anyone knows how I can verify this?

Yes, it appears there is an update, take a look at this MSB and if your maintenance goes to the Garmin Dealer Portal, there should be a package available for install. Remember to have your unlock cards available too.

This update also includes the ADSB fix for ghosted aircraft. Follow this thread viewtopic.php?t=9478

This MSB managed to convince our local Garmin dealer that a software upgrade is indeed possible for our aircraft after he insisted for years we can not upgrade.
Now we have a new challenge - we need to show that 670.15 can support installation of Flight Stream 210 - I understand that this capability was added in 0670.14 and requires GDL88 for installation - but I couldn't find any official document for it. Do you know of such or know of someone who added FS210 to DA42-NG?

The MSB shows support for FS510. I don’t know about FS210…

The FS510 support is only for the NXi...

Meanwhile I did some more research - it seems that the Cockpit Reference Guide and the Pilot’s Guide referenced in the MSB clearly state that FS210 is supported, so I now my local representative sent a certification request to Garmin. Let's see what's the official response is...
