MOSAIC and Diamond Aircraft: What Sport Pilots Need to Know

• The DA20 (all models) and specific models of the DA40-180 certified for MTOW of 1150 kg (2,535 lbs.) can be flown by pilots using Sport Pilot privileges under the new MOSAIC rules, beginning October 22, 2025.
• All Diamond aircraft are certified under Part 23 and cannot be considered Light Sport Aircraft. They must be maintained according to the rules specified for Part 23 aircraft and their respective AMMs, even if they are being flown using Sport Pilot privileges.
