Flap Actuator Motor
Dear colleagues,
Unfortunately, the Flap Actuator Motor P/N 22-2750-02-01 in my aircraft (DA20-C1 S/N C0051) has failed.
I have contacted both Diamond Europe and Diamond Canada, but neither of them currently has this part in stock, nor does their supplier. As a result, my aircraft is grounded.
Could you please check among your maintenance facilities or service partners if anyone might have this part available?
Thank you very much in advance for your kind assistance.
Best regards,
Mario

Re: Flap Actuator Motor
The flap actuator assembly uses an SKF linear actuator. It may be possible to obtain a replacement motor from SKF and rebuild the unit you have.

Well, that certainly limits your options. I am a bit surprised that the factory in Austria doesn't have one in stock - are they not producing DA20s any more?

No, they haven’t been producing the DA20 for years, but what’s most confusing is that Diamond Canada doesn’t have one in stock either — they’re having issues with their supplier.

I don't know how you obtained that P/N but have you tried ordering motor P/N CARR 22x50x1/D24B or the kit DA20-27-01MK (if it's still available). Bare in mind, that the MFG for this P/N is being absorbed by a new parent company and that is why Diamond is providing you with that answer. It happened to me with some VDO gauges and it's still going on.
Worse comes to worst, you buy an As Removed (but Serviceable) unit, you have a mechanic test it on your A/C and release it with an F1 if it works.
About this last point, I have seen a very prestigious service center do this for a very critical component since there was no repair instructions in the CMM and the OEM had a long lead time for the replacement. They released the component as serviceable with an F1.

Re: Flap Actuator Motor
Unfortunately, up to this day Diamond still hasn’t provided me with any information on when the part will be available. At first they tried to explain themselves and suggested it might be ready in December, but now they’ve completely stopped responding to emails — absolutely no communication. This is customer treatment at the worst possible level.
If anyone can assist me with this matter, I would greatly appreciate it (perhaps someone has access to a used part or knows a good maintenance shop that could perform the repair with proper documentation).
