DA50 Safety Features?
Is there any information about the newly reannounced DA50 safety features such as eSafe or BRS? Thanks. Jeff

No BRS.
I asked at Friedrichshafen Friday.

Re: DA50 Safety Features?
This is unfathomable to me. What is the possible rationale for not including this system on a ~$1m aircraft that is trying to compete with the TTX and SR22T, especially when DIA has experience with the TKS system through the DA42?Jean wrote:No fiki either so far

Re: DA50 Safety Features?
Is it possible to have a PIREP of what DAI was saying at Aero Friedrichshafen?
I still cannot see this DA50 as a serious announcement.
The lack of FIKI statement reinforces my feeling. To me it is no more than market pulse sensing.
The SR22 has become a formidable force and there's nothing stopping Cirrus from adding a diesel engine - except the minor fact that no such engine suitable for this aircraft category is available today.
I think Diamond will come to the conclusion that they cannot succeed in this market segment anymore.

Re: DA50 Safety Features?
The sad thing is... THEY COULD succeed in this segment! They have the technology to do it - but what in the heck are they sputtering for? If they are serious about being a competitor, what the heck are they screwing around with a helicopter for?! So unfortunate....
Cirrus has the marketing, and "lifestyle" figured out. They need some people with some modern vision leading this ship!
Still hopeful they will surprise with something cutting edge... like they used to. (wishful thinking?)

Re: DA50 Safety Features?
I wouldn't rule out FIKI for the DA50. The plane has enough weight carrying capacity with 260+ hp engines, room in the fuselage, and a space on the left side of the instrument panel where the FIKI sub-panel goes.
It's worth remembering that the DA62 prototype (i.e., the DA52) didn't have FIKI either. The DA50 on exhibit at AERO is a prototype.
