Diamondfest anyone?
Provided the forecast remais vfr my girlfriend and I plan on flying to the Diamond factory in London, Ontario tomorrow morning to attend Diamondfest.
I’m very interested in visiting the factory, chat with the company’s representatives and hopefully meet some of you in person!

Re: Diamondfest anyone?
I have to cancel my flight. Not enough time left to go to the airport, prepare the airplane, and fly to London before the airspace is closed for the air show. And tomorrow Sunday will be imc so can’t go.

Re: Diamondfest anyone?
We attended yesterday (Friday) and returned home today. The Friday evening "Hour of Power" (actually about 3 hours of flying) was great - airshow flying started around 5pm and ended just before sunset, with an F18 ending the show, dragging his arresting hook on the runway causing a big "sparkler"! If you go next year, try to make the Friday evening show.
Looking!

I'll bet the airport management (not to mention the F18 maintenance chief) loved thatjb642DA wrote:We attended yesterday (Friday) and returned home today. If I knew about the event, I might have gone there, but I did not.
Is there a mailing list to subscribe to? How do you all know about it?
Thanks!!

I'm on the mailing list (have gone twice in the past), but I usually get notified only 10-14 days prior to the event. Not really enough time to plan international travel (even though I'm retired).gordsh wrote:Email sales (sales@diamondair.com) and ask to be put you on the mailing list.

Re: Diamondfest anyone?
The international part of the trip isn't a factor for me. We would often decide maybe the day before to make trips into SW Canada. Extra stuff to do, of course, but not like we needed to plane for weeks. But the length of the round trip from the West Coast does require clearing my calendar. The term "retired" is kind of a misnomer
