Post by Rich »

Lately I often get this message when posting a reply.

General Error
SQL ERROR [ mysqli ]

MySQL server has gone away [2006]

An SQL error occurred while fetching this page. Please contact the Board Administrator if this problem persists.

The reply has succeeded, but the screen refresh fails with the error.

Thanks for letting me know. I'll probably switch us back to a beefier server. My guess is that we're either running short of memory or queries are timing out when the site is busy.

That's what it feels like, as it does seem to be hanging before the error pops up.

I think it's probably that the SQL server isn't spun up yet, but it's essentially the same issue solved the same way.

Switchover to a more capable server is complete. Please let me know if you see the error again.
