DA42 World Rounder Flight

Post by tjmoody »

A DA42 has just started a round the world flight and you can follow the tracks here:

https://share.garmin.com/tyrerworldflight

I don't know if the pilot Richard Tyrer is active on DAN but he posts some excellent DA42 videos on YouTube and is worth following. I don't have any affiliation except being excited to watch this.

Richard tells me he’s stopping in North Carolina for three weeks to be fitted for ferry tanks.

Interesting! I assumed SouthTec was a part of the story when I saw he landed at KRUQ :)

Richard has made it to Bangkok but it sounds like the flight is on hold for a few months. Per his Instagram post, COVID and war-related restrictions were making it difficult to continue.

Its been an impressive trip so far!
