Did you have to replace gearboxes?
Yes I did. Both of them. To be honest, I was surprised on how quickly Premier was able to get them from Diamond Austria. Only 4 weeks.

I think I’ll be taking her to Premier from now on. It made all the difference taking her to a shop that was very knowledgeable and HAS the proper tools.
Yikes. If I understand the timeline, this was for a 400 hour inspection and you purchased the plane less than a year ago (and, therefore didn't really know how the plane was operated prior to that). Like, the prior owners might had been done windmill starts, etc. But, 400 hours requiring two gearboxes is definitely a concern. Are you willing to share $$$?

As an aside, so far I am a fan of Premier as well.

I have seen the invoice from the previous owner of my DA62 - single gearbox replacement in early 2020. Parts price USD 9,300 before tax. Gearbox had been in service 600h. The other gearbox was OK
Part number is E4A-70-000-000

Each gearbox was $10,575 USD
New battery $1,023
LH turbo leaking at mating haves: $5,103 for new turbocharger assembly

Etc.

She was a hangar queen only flying roughly 50 hours for per heat for 4.5 years.

I flew her 130 hrs in 10 months.
