Spring Break, 2015 - Video

Post by Steve »

Was thinking about where to fly for Spring Break in 2023. Came across a short video I made of landing in Sedona, AZ for a Spring Break hiking trip with my youngest son in 2015 (Wow - time flies - he is currently in his last year in Law School). Anyway, nothing to compare with Wayne's and others' professional video productions (low res, minimal editing, pre-iPad, no cockpit audio, etc.).

But it did bring back some great memories:

Probably meet the same son around the Phoenix area this year for more hiking...

@Steve, this is indeed why we fly! Enjoy the flying memories you make in 2023,
Wayne

BTW -- how 'bout Álamos, Sonora, Mexico?

+1 on Alamos. Absolutely great destination owned by an American pilot and his Mexican wife. They have a huge hangar they will park you in, free of charge. Even fit my enormous DA42's wingspan without a sweat. And as Wayne's video shows, Hacienda de Los Santos is a beautiful hacienda. You can't go wrong.

Another destination to consider, reasonably accessible from Central TX is Mexico City. It's a truly world class city, with delicious Michelin starred food, as well as tons of street food, with parks everywhere. Probably my favorite destination in Mexico. If you go this route, MMJC is my preferred airport, but note that it is tricky with a 4500' sloped runway at 8500 elevation. MMSM and MMTO are alternates if you want a more traditional airport!

Have enjoyed Mexico a couple of times in the past (Isla Mujeres, Cancun, Cozumel), but flew there commercial. Not really interested in travel to Mexico at the present time - security concerns.
