Headband sticks out much more than A20 in area just above earcup. No thanks. I prefer the A20s low profile.
They look like Micky Mouse Headband - sticking with A20s.

It might simply be the extension sections are extended more than needed.

Looks like the band is a bit thicker at the top of the head. While I'm shrinking with age, I'm still a bit over 6'4" and my A20's regularly hit the top of my bubble canopy. I would really have a stiff neck with a thicker band. I'd love to try the Clarity Aloft headset

Mine came today. I got the BT 6 pin LEMO connection and I have the genius power adapter which is untested in my DA40. I don't think it looks funny.
I'll try it out on Saturday and give a Pirep. Great timing as I was about to pull the plug and upgrade my wife to Bose from the old DC's. I am refurbishing my A20 for her.

Shot a few approaches on Saturday with my CFII to shake off the cobwebs and try out the A30. The cable adapter worked great and it woke up on ship's power. A few things I noticed -

At home beforehand I set up the Bluetooth connections to my phone and iPad. I hear an odd amount of clicking and popping when connecting or disconnecting from BT and even before playing the first song. My A20 is older and has a BT connection for telephone only but it makes much less fuss when connecting. Sounded cheap, very un-Bose-like. Has anybody had this experience? May not be noticeable over airplane noise.

I hear more cabin noise than before. I am pretty sure anyway. I meant to compare it with my A20 but was too busy with my heads-down.

I had to turn the ship's volume up to understand the controller which didn't make itself apparent until climb out. May be related to the point above.

The clamping force may be less, but I would sacrifice some clamping force for additional sound reduction. Somebody who flies longer distances or "all day" may have a different opinion. The Bose Connect app does not support the A30 (yet?) but a future software update may take care of all of these issues.

Haha, my wife would want the newer pair!

New Bose A30 do not work an expected on 2023 DA62 using the LEMO jacks. You have to have batteries in for initial start up of avionics, then you can take batteries out until after next shutdown. I just leave them in. Batteries dont seem to be used after the LEMO power kicks in. Documented on the web and maybe on this site, I can't remember where I read it. Bose blames Diamond and Diamond says Bose changed something in the A30. A20 LEMO headsets work as expected on DA62.

I haven't delved into it but I assume the 62 has the same behavior as the 40. That is, when you turn on the master switch the avionics bus gets energized momentarily and drops out again until the avionics master switch is turned on. The avionics bus is what supplies power to the LEMO plugs. This hasn't been a problem with any other headsets as far as I know. Certainly not mine. But perhaps the A30s have some circuitry that has a problem with this behavior.
