While doing thr run up this past week, ECU A and D both failed on the right engine- shutdown twice and tried to re-cycle to clear the fault - no luck;
Our mechanic from synergy (BMI) came to SPI in less than 2 hours/ determined prop governor failure- new one from diamond $5300! Sent it off to MT prop in Florida for re-build .
580tt on engine - anyone had this issue?

Re: Ecu failure / prop governor
I've had a governor failure before. It's probably the most failure prone part on our DA42s (though there are a few other wear points). Since I travel a lot internationally, I bought a spare, and now keep it in my nose compartment. Once you have the part, it's an easy job to swap, any A&P can do it in a few hours.
Also worth noting that when MT rebuilds the governor, they apply the latest hardware and software mods. So hopefully that will help you get some more longevity!

Re: Ecu failure / prop governor
I had a defective prop governor, though it did not cause errors as you described. It merely allowed the prop rpm to hunt slowly, requiring constant adjustment of the thrust lever to maintain sync with the other engine.
I know of a couple more prop governor failures on 62s, and have heard of others.
