Hello everyone, with alternative fuels and GAMI etc. floating around in the news I was wondering if anyone had heard of a diesel engine conversion for the DA20-C1.
I know that weight is probably an issue with the smaller engines produced for a/c like the C172. Just wondering if anyone has heard anything. Rumour has it that some of the US avagas plants are going to start shutting down.

Re: Alternative Engine for DA20-C!
I don't know of any current alternatives and own a DA20-A1 model myself. But I'd like to think a Rotax 915iS conversion would be a nice option. Combine this with a constant speed MT prop, and it would really perform. The 915 has 135hp and is turbocharged. Wonder what the cruise speed would be like above 8000ft. Would have to approach 145kts.
MT propeller has an STC for the DA20-A1 that allows conversion to the Rotax 912iS. There is very little difference between the A1 and C1 airframes btw.
