Ok. I saw the previous posts. I think I'm going to pick up this product and try it out.
We're always dealing with icing to some degree for at least six months of the year.
If this product is as good as it looks and doesn't alter the surface as far as we are concerned,
it will be worth while, at least for me it will.

Just picked up some Rustoleum Neverwet from Home Depot a today. I hope to apply it this weekend
and see how it works early next week. If it works as well on my plane as it does in the AOPA video
it could very well be a life saver.

More performance?
My plan is to get some 6" polyethylene tape. Apply that to my leading edges. Then apply the Never Wet to the tape. I don't want to put this directly on the surface because it may interfere with paint adhesion or composite repair. My wings are in need of a re-paint due to some paint failure. I haven't read the MSDS to see if this is removable with a solvent.
But if you guys beat me to the testing I think we all would love to hear the experience. This would be really great if this is successful. Possibly someone is working on an approved hydrophobic coating.

I'm going to be doing a little pre-airplane application test on a couple of different materials just to get a feel for the product. In accordance with the manufacturer, the product can be removed using mineral spirits. I'll find out how easy that is. Also, one of the common user complaints of the product is the lack of lasting power. Apparently it comes off fairly easy once the surface is disturbed or aggravated. It will be interesting to see how the product lasts under continuous flight with rain, wind and moisture pelting the leading edges for extended periods.
Once I'm done with the testing I will be putting a full application on the wing, horizontal, vertical fins and wheel pants.I might as well go for it and see what happens. Reading all of the product info I can find on the cans and manufacturers site, there doesn't appear to be anything that would adversely affect the finish on the wing. I guess we will find out.
The upside if this stuff does work is huge. One thing is for sure, the manufacturer will do nothing but improve upon this product over time as it evolves. I can definitely see a variation of this product eventually replacing anti-icing and de-icing equipment as we know it. That will be huge both in cost and weight.

Forgive my stupidity, but how are you going to tell if it works? In >12 years I have seen ice exactly once (1/4" strip for 5 minutes on the leading edge) on my wing. Since the aircraft is not certified for KI, we avoid those conditions. I don't think anyone on this board is going to seek out icing conditions to test it (product on one wing, bare on the other - see which one gets more ice...).

Actually you could test it on the non TKS surfaces of DA42 such as the nose or part edge of the wing near the winglets. I have landed multiple times with a 1/4" or more on those areas. http://i.imgur.com/Rv2Vx2K.jpg
