Has anyone had any luck developing a custom splash screen to replace the picture of the DA40 on their G1000 MFD?
I can open the file (\\ldr_sys\DA40_splsh_scrn.tga) in Photoshop. It shows as RGB/8 but contains no embedded properties that I can see. Adobe reads it as 7.111 (512px) x 8.889 (640px), 72 pixels/inch. The zip files that it resides in shows standard compression using the old 'deflate' algorithm.
If no one knows otherwise, I'll try to build an image to these specs and see how it goes. I have confirmed that the G1000 does not require the splash screen.

Re: Custom Splash Screen
I confirmed that this can be done.
Not knowing how much difference in file size, etc. I could get away with, I used Adobe Photoshop to create a tga file that was nearly identical to the Diamond splash screen and put it where it belongs inside the folder and zip file.
Boot with the software in the MFD upper slot first; decline software update; accept splash screen update; repeat with PFD. Re-save the configuration.

Re: Custom Splash Screen
Here is my work, which was done on Diamond DA42 NG airplane, which were operated by Kharkiv Aviation Squadron of the State Border Union of Ukraine.
It was done almost 7 years ago.
Having succeeded, I quickly forgot about it)
I found this custom splash screen file and load into the MFD (with Mooney sw).
Was initially after loading custom splash screen Every aircraft has its own path to splash screen file on SD card, but principal of splash screen loading is the same.
