Just found out that inogenaviator no longer sells the G5. They now only sell oxygen cannulas and cigarette lighter DC/DC converter.

Darn. Did they provide any information about where to buy the G5?

The G5 appears to be for sale by multiple vendors on the Internet:

https://www.inogen.com/product/g5-three ... ry-system/
https://www.directhomemedical.com/cart/ ... e_Code=DHM
https://helpmedicalsupplies.com/product ... 2268906611

A doctor's prescription may be required by some of the vendors. You can ask your physician for a prescription that says something like "to be used to supply supplemental oxygen as required by the FARs."

A few of us bought together a year ago. Our vendor required a copy of our pilot's certificates in order to sell it to us.

Which vendor did y’all use? And what did you pay, ballpark?

Looking back on the description: OxyGo Next package. Package includes unit, 16 cell battery, carrying case, AC and DC chargers, manual, 2 cannula's, Y connector, and 5-year warranty. $1,795 March 2021.

Still looking for supplier, we bought as a group.

PIREP- I recently rented an Inogen G5 to try out on a long cross-country. Liked it so much I bought it for $1750 used (new $2700) with the large (16cell) battery. I now use it whenever I'm flying in the DA40 sweet spot of 6-9K. It keeps my O2 above 90 at the 3-4 setting, which is good for at least 5 hours. My alertness is noticeably increased and fatigue decreased. My wife is content to remain oxygen free since her O2 at those altitudes is naturally 90+. Don't even notice the air puffs and noise is not noticeable in the cockpit when flying. The only downsides are the weight (6lb) and finding a place to put it when I have a co-pilot.

Has anyone installed a 28V power outlet in their aircraft for these type of devices? Also, has anyone tested Inogen Aviator's dc to dc converter (supposed to be good up to 32V). Based on the reviews in this stream, I am likely going to purchase an Inogen G5. Since my plane is in for annual, I'm asking them to recommend a panel mounted jack to provide 28V for the Inogen. The standard 12V cigarette lighter adapter is only good for 2A, no use rewiring it as I understand the G5 needs about 100W. Since we have 70A alternators, seems better to draw less current directly off the 28V bus. Feedback/Ideas? Thanks

The accessory plug is 28V, directly connected to the hot bus.
