Re: G1000 Legacy & NXi upgrade program
Do we know what GDU version will be included in the DA40 update? The DA42 SB indicates GDU version 15.11, which has a regression in ADS-B NEXRAD: https://support.garmin.com/en-US/?faq=M ... FBHYTnMqS9. This functionality currently works with 0321.23 software on my DA40. It would be a bummer to lose this functionality with the upgrade, especially since Diamond has stated this is the end of the line for the legacy G1000. No idea why they would not have gone with the latest v15 GDU version for this release, as this has been fixed for years.

Re: G1000 Legacy & NXi upgrade program
There is at least a v15.26: https://support.garmin.com/en-US/aviati ... oA4XUo6pA/. This thread on Mooneyspace suggests that the issue was fixed in v15.20 back in December, 2016.
I did a bit more digging and it seems v15.11 was available for the DA42-NG and VI prior to the latest SB. So it seems they just packaged up the version of G1000 software already certified for the newer models and made it available for earlier DA42s. I don't believe any newer software was ever certified for the legacy G1000 DA40 (though I could be mistaken) -- so I will keep my hope that Diamond doesn't ship v15.11 for the DA40.

Re: G1000 Legacy & NXi upgrade program
If v15.11 was the last one from GDU v15 that was used by DAI in DA40/42 with AE300 engines then it's the one that will be delivered for any G1000 legacy Diamond aircraft. No way DAI would order Garmin to start development/porting of something that hasn't been previously used on their aircrafts.mhoran wrote: ↑Tue Mar 01, 2022 12:57 pmThere is at least a v15.26: https://support.garmin.com/en-US/aviati ... oA4XUo6pA/. Re: G1000 Legacy & NXi upgrade program
I think it's fair to assume that when Diamond and Garmin finally come out with GDU V15 software for Lycoming DA40s with Legacy G1000, that they will incorporate important bug fixes like the one noted in the Garmin bulletin.
FWIW, I installed GDU Version 15 software in my 2013 DA42-VI with Legacy G1000 when that software first became available in 2015. It worked well, including display of SiriusXM satellite NEXRAD weather. (I had installed a GTX33ES transponder for ADS-B Out because the GTX345R was not yet available for the DA42-VI back then, so I wasn't able to test ADS-B IN weather in that plane.)

Re: G1000 Legacy & NXi upgrade program
In the work instruction it is mentioned that:
"WAAS equipment (GIA63Ws) is required with this system software version. This software supports GIA63W with P/N 011-01105-20".
Does that mean that GIA63W is required (standard Version *-01 as supported already in GDU 370-22) and now also *-20 is supported - or does that mean that "only" *-20 units will be supported?
In previous discussion (viewtopic.php?t=6946&start=120) is was mentioned that:
Diamond and Garmin are working on a new solution (Service Bulletin) for the DA42-TDI planes that have a KAP140. This solution will also work with the -20 version of the GIA63W. This is what Emir is referring to. The SW associated with that solution is planned to be compatible with both the -01 and -20 version of the GIA63W.

Re: G1000 Legacy & NXi upgrade program
Good news!
I just received the information from GARMIN (even Diamond could not give an answer on this issue) that the GIA63W P/N 011-01105-01 is also compatible.
As soon as Garmin will have the 370.23 version for download available (up to now they haven't received the SB from Diamond or it is in process) I will get it installed.
Mustn’t Diamond also change the equipment list in this case? – add the GIA63W with 011-01105-01 and 011-01105-20?
