Is that diagram for the 62? It appears identical to the design of the 40's parking brake valve and actuating cable. I have not heard of a similar occurrence in a DA40. I've not seen it in 22 years of ownership. I typically activate the Parking Brake valve after stepping on the brakes, but have also done it before, particularly before start after pulling out of the hangar. Similarly, I usually step on the brakes before releasing the valve, but by no means every time...Ed McDonald wrote: ↑Sun Feb 05, 2023 9:17 pm An unofficial fix for this is to install a piece of tubing over the Bowden Cable. The issue is when the parking brake lever is pushed in against without releasing the brake by stepping on them, the Bowden Cable gets a kink and your are going nowhere. The tubing prevents the kinking.

Re: Park Brake issue
The "unofficial" fix is quite official, instructed by Diamond to my service center. Plane should be fixed soon, hope it doesnt get stuck againEd McDonald wrote: ↑Sun Feb 05, 2023 9:17 pm An unofficial fix for this is to install a piece of tubing over the Bowden Cable. Re: Park Brake issue
Anyone know if the parking brake behaves differently with Beringer master cylinders?

Re: Park Brake issue
I would expect the same as it is just the brake assembly that has changed not the Bowden cables.

Re: Park Brake issue
I actually had this happen in my DA40 alternate air cable due to not being careful enough re-installing the alternate air valve. It results from excessive "compression" force being applied to the Bowden Cable plus a large distance where the cable is not confined to the cable shroud.
FWIW I note this in the DA62 IPC:
