Re: Possible NW Diamond fly-in Fall-ish. 2021
Maybe I misunderstood. I thought it was fly in on Saturday, depart on Sunday get together. It's not a trip (3.5hrs on the Hobbs) I would make as a lunch turnaround flight. If that's the intent, then it's outside of my range, which is fine. I don't want to dampen a local event.

I had been thinking about this as a one-day thing, as for many of us it’s less than a one hour flight. But I think I will fly in Saturday and stay over. So some can elect to do that and others pop in Sunday Morning.

I will be flying in and out on Sunday (14th), assuming no grounding shenanigans.

If enough people want to make this into an overnight, we could probably put together a short wine tasting tour for Saturday afternoon and then visit the museum on Sunday.

I live in Sonoma County wine country, and I've been tasting in the Willamette Valley so it's not necessary for me. Of course I would participate if everyone wants to make it part of the event!

Sounds good. I'd be up for coming down on Sat and staying overnight if others are doing that.

There should be enough space for parking. There's helicopter activity around the main apron, so figure on control locks for sure.
There is both a Red Lion and a Comfort Inn about 1 nm West of the airport for those staying over. I haven't yet checked if they have shuttle service. It seems wimpy to walk as the distance isn't bad but one winds up walking along the shoulder of roadways to and from them.
For wine-tasting, if that's something we want to do, I could go ahead and rent a car. I may do that anyway, which would take care of the hotel access deal.

The only nearby Rental Car outfit is Enterprise. They are closed weekends and have no cars during that time Fallback is Taxi/Uber.
