I have a 205 DA40 with 345R and the Legacy Non WAAS G1000. GPU software 9.15 - While at Oshkosh I asked the Garmin folks if the FS210 would allow me to transfer my flight plan to my G1000. I asked three people and got three different answers. Maybe, should be able, pretty sure you can. Nothing solid. So does anyone have this setup and does it work? I am using the external antenna mod for the Bluetooth and it working fine with a solid Bluetooth connection.

I believe this is a very detailed question for a very unique situation. Nobody know the exact answer unless they have done it. Besides, with very different equipment setup, each situation could be very particular. I wouldn't be surprised you got three different answers :(

I am fairly certain there’s someone here that has it, just which I could remember who. As for which features will work and which don’t, that seems to be a very gray area because they haven’t published anything straightforward on it. I saw a legacy 62 owner remove a 210 after they discovered that it didn’t do what Garmin said it would, they were the guinea pig in that case I suppose.

I had a FS210 installed on my last DA40 (non-waas g1000) at the recommendation of garmin to help with poor connectivity issues I was having with foreflight on GTx345R. I assure you that Flight Plan transfer did not work. I called Garmin support and tech informed me that the software, although available at the time, had not been activated by Diamond for the last GDU service update.

FS210 has been promised to work with the forthcoming GDU v15 update that was due out last October. The flight transfer won't work without this update as Adam learned, but the Bluetooth will be more stable.
