Hi guys what kind of speeds are you guys getting. On a hot day im only getting 105 kts at 1000ft. On a cool day I'm getting a little more. Are these numbers correct and shouldn't it getting more like 114kts or something from what I read. My engine compressions are all 78-79/80
What are your performance numbers.

Not sure about your A1 but I have the C1 with Continental 125HP motor and cruise around 125k. Can push it to 130knots cruise if I'm in a hurry but its not as efficient. I upgraded to an MT prop and it added at least 10knots in cruise. Maybe look at your prop?

Re: DA20-A1 speeds and performance
Hi, I just joined today but my DA20-A1 (GBXTS) in the UK gives me 120kts at 1000ft at 28 MFP with two 80kg pob. Conditions here are typically 5-15 Celsius at 1000ft. Enginer is Rotax 912 (carb) 80hp which was rebuilt not so long ago with about 400 hrs on. I use UL91.

120kts at 1000 feet? That doesn’t sound right for the 81 hp 912. Perhaps for the 100 hp 912?
I get 105 kts indicated at 1,000 feet (sea level) and 2400 rpm and aprox 26 mp. I’ve found you can get a few more kts if the wings and prop are clean.

Re: DA20-A1 speeds and performance
What was your indicated speed before and after the new prop?
Pre pandemic the prices for the c1 were reasonable, and I was thinking of upgrading. Diamond claims they have restarted production for the c1 and katana 100 but who knows.

Re: DA20-A1 speeds and performance
Hi,
Sorry for the delay! So I'm in G-BXTS (DA20-A1) and 120kts is 2300rpm on the constant speed Hoffman, which I think is 4600rpm engine.
So here's a 160 nautical mile flight I did a couple of weeks ago on Flight Radar - https://www.flightradar24.com/data/airc ... s#2dd40fb0
Distance 163NM, flight time 1:25, average ground speed 115kts and it was very calm that day with standing haze all the way from Cardiff to Blackbush.
I set off with full tanks 74L, 1pob so about 650kg TOW (my next fill up was 34.5L). She was clean and has full fairings, a teflon polish by RGV two years ago. I've also run one can of molyslip through (changed and back to Shell Aero now) which seemed to improve the climb, and was definitely quieter after. I can average 650-700fpm with me (88kg) and flying buddy Jim (65kg) and 50L of fuel, which I think is good for a 80hp?
