EGT Failure

Just got finished with the annual on my 2004 DA40-180 and afterwards the number 1 EGT wasn't indicating. Checked over the wiring bundle and the IA didn't see anything obvious and I needed to leave so I took it that way. After takeoff it started working, indicating abnormally low (no other indications of problems), then it was normal, then it went way high (over 1700) and then it quit with a red X over the area the bar graph would be for number 1.

Anybody seen anything like this before or have an idea what would cause it?

Check the connector on the wiring from the #1 probe. Might have been disturbed during working around the engine.

Yes, actually had checked that before the flight as it was not working on the post annual/oil change run up. So when it worked at the beginning of the flight I thought it was good, just odd the very different indications.
