Re: Interested in a Powered LEMO Adapter?
For those that didn't follow my tedious topic on how this was figured out, here is a diagram for wiring a LEMO panel adapter in a DA62, from the AMM for same. It appears this is a factory option:
That "OR" (orange) wire to the tip contact for the mike carries ship voltage, as the equivalent one does for virtually all Diamonds. The adapter being offered here replicates that circuitry but in an external adapter, not requiring the tedium of installing the Bose kit permanently in a post delivery situation.
The best way to describe this adapter is that it provides ANR/bluetooth power to BOSE 6-pin LEMO-equipped headsets from the plane's electrical system when the plane has GA duel-plug jacks and provides such power to the tip contact of the microphone jack.
Right now we only know of Diamond that provides this, though there may be others. Conversely there may be headsets that can use this tip power directly, as it was intended for some specific headsets, some of which are known to no longer be in production.

Re: Interested in a Powered LEMO Adapter?
The DA62s I’ve flown have both dual plug and ship-powered LEMO connectors at every seat; I own a couple of Lightspeed Zulu 3s with the LEMO plug option, and they work fine. Are you saying the LEMO connectors were not always standard equipment in earlier DA62s?

Re: Interested in a Powered LEMO Adapter?
62s and 50s have that (as an option? Wiring Diagrams would seem so). Yet the dual-plug mike jacks have that same power-tip as all other Diamonds. So you could use this gizmo but likely don't have to.photoSteveZ wrote: ↑Sun Feb 06, 2022 2:31 pm I’m confused. We 40/42/20 drivers only have it if it was installed in the field.

Re: Interested in a Powered LEMO Adapter?
Premier or Diamond charged me an extra $2,000 to have LEMO sockets installed at the factory when they were putting together my 2020 DA42.

Re: Interested in a Powered LEMO Adapter?
The LEMO installation wiring diagram is separate from the main audio diagram for the ‘62 and ‘50. That’s why I suspect it’s a factory option. But it may be that no one is ordering one without it. There is no diagram I can find for the ‘42, but that’s not definitive and the 62/50 diagram is applicable nonetheless to all Diamonds. This gizmo covers getting ship’s power to LEMO headsets in the significant number of Diamonds that lack the permanent installation.
I’d like to order one just because I’ve built 3 of these in the process of figuring it out and might as well have one for the remaining station.

Rich, you'll be getting one of these gizmos ... as thanks for making this possible.

Since my Zulu can't be converted and can not even be repaired by LS should it need to be (it's like 12 years old). I went and took advantage of this particular special offer to upgrade to a Zulu 3 W/LEMO:
https://go.lightspeedaviation.com/zulu-to-zulu3-2022
It's $100 more than their standard credit for this tradein.

Re: Interested in a Powered LEMO Adapter?
I checked with Premier, and the DA62 comes standard with both LEMO and dual-plug jacks at each seat. In Europe, the DA62 also comes with a pair of LEMO-plug headsets, but not so here in North America.
I have not confirmed whether the DA50 also comes with LEMO jacks.

Re: Interested in a Powered LEMO Adapter?
I contacted Lightspeed about an adapter for a GA plug pair so I could use this new gizmo. They said this adapter would allow me to use LEMO without any batteries:
https://www.pilot-usa.com/adapters/pa-93b.html
I notice that there's no visible connection to the battery compartment... which means that the power is being supplied somehow in the TRS connectors. Is there a way to just go direct and avoid the LEMO entirely for those of us who don't have it?

Re: Interested in a Powered LEMO Adapter?
I have no idea how this would work. I have had my lightspeed (version 1) apart and the tip connector has no connection to the innards of the control module. So if this this magically provided power to the tip it wouldn't go anywhere. If you want to take one for the team let us knowdant wrote: ↑Wed Feb 09, 2022 9:37 pm I contacted Lightspeed about an adapter for a GA plug pair so I could use this new gizmo.
