A caveat about the Lightspeed I discovered. Unlike the A20, the LEMO version of the Zulu3 works fine, but there is no battery compartment. In the absence of ship's power to the LEMO you lose ANR and Bluetooth, though it still will work passively. This is most likely to be an issue if you plan to use the headset in non-Diamond, non-LEMO aircraft.

Has anyone found a way to convert a Zulu 3? The convertor support said would work we're almost certain doesn't work.

It has to go back to Lightspeed to be modified. I checked with them re my old pre-2010 Zulu. They were open to doing it but can't for the really old ones. I have since exchanged my old one for a Z-3 LEMO and based on the design I expect they need to swap the control module itself.

Do you maybe have an update?

An early-release adapter was last week shipped to Rich for his testing. Awaiting Rich's report.
Thanks for everyone's continued interest!

It was actually shipped earlier this week. Tracking info suggests delivery today and I will likely be able to test tomorrow with various headsets. All four seats will now be LEMO-connected, including my three Frankencables.

Tested today. The unit worked great for all my LEMO-enabled stuff:

Bose A20
Lightspeed Zulu3
BluLink 2 -> Bose A20 (both LEMO)
Pilot-USA Carbon A1 (BluLink 2 built in)

These are all set up for Stereo and worked properly using this adapter.

Rich, many thanks for testing the Powered LEMO Adapter... and most importantly for pioneering the idea to begin with!
I'll get pricing and ordering details from Steve and get them announced here post haste.

Many thanks to both:
-- Rich for the awesome discovery and proof-of-concept
-- and my good pilot friend and aviation inventor Steve for productizing!

I, for one, am totally enjoying my full-function ANR headset-without-batteries!!

P.S. If you have an existing Bose A20 dual-plug headset, you can convert to a LEMO headset via...
