My new DA42-V1 has a shorter range and hauls fewer lbs of people and cargo … useful load of 1,165 lbs (528 kg) in the DA42.
Radar and air condition?
No radar, no aircon, no built-in oxygen. The only heavy options are TKS and a couple of hefty Austros.

The 2014 G5 Cirrus had TKS and air conditioning that worked well even on the ground.

I too went from 12'' to 10'' screens - thought it would be an issue but hardily noticed. One thing is that the horrifically overpriced iPad mounts on the A-pillars transform the usability of the iPad. Having FlightStream connectivity from the iPad and a really good mounting place means you'll be using it a lot more than in the Cirrus. iPad Mini 6 fits really well there. For the weak AC issue, it works fine with JetShades intalled. The shades make flyng at altitude (inc. winter) much more comfortable.

You can ask Diamond to install USB-C aftermarket for you if necessary, I think for $1.5m they'll find a way!

I have added flightstream 210 to the 22 and it is a godsend. I use a suction ram mount iPad mini 4 (which works fine when it isn't overheating or coming unstuck at the wrong moment). I would be interested to know if you guys use Foreflight or Garmin Pilot. My 22 came with the Jeppersen plate unlock so I use Jepp data/charts. I am trying to wean myself off Skydemon which is brilliant for new PPL's in UK/Europe but has no support for flightstream, but does have some useful IR capability.

Without the AC, forward CG will always be a problem in the 62. Even with the weight of the AC unit installed behind the rear bulkhead, putting two big people in front and filling the TKS reservoir will put you out of CG unless you add ballast to the rear baggage compartment. In the five seat configuration it’s even more of a problem because those rear seats weigh 55 lb more than the cargo tray. Since I routinely fly my five seater with only one passenger, I keep a spare, 10-liter jug of TKS fluid strapped to the rear bulkhead unless I fill the rear seats and need the payload.

Get some Jet Shades, by all means. I prefer the standard tint over the pricier, darker tint.

My new DA62 came from the factory with threaded mounting holes in the A-pillars that match the stock RAM ball you need to mount an iPad. Buy the balls from RAM or Sporty’s and save the $$$.

Really useful nugget on the iPad mounts, surely not that simple? Will look at a new one this weekend. I hadn't thought about CG, I often fly solo and only 160lbs, am I going to need ballast and even more without A/C. How big is TKS tank(s)?

My Austrian-built 2017 DA62 came with the threaded mounting holes on the A-pillars for installation of the stock RAM ball mounts -- so I didn't have to order this as an option. But some Canada-built DA62s won't come with this unless the option is ordered; the screws are strictly decorative without the threaded nut-plates installed behind the holes.

My Canadian built DA62 came with the threaded mounting holes in the A-pillar too. $10 for the mounts vs the $1,500 offer from Diamond.

Mine, too. Even had the machine screws and the plastic collars the heads fit into.

That loading is likely to be well within limits, no matter how full or empty the TKS tank is. In my airplane, it’s when the TKS is full and the front seats carry more than 400lb total that you need to add ballast weight aft (a second row passenger works, too). Similarly, I’m careful how I load the nose baggage, putting only light stuff like canopy covers up front.

But without the AC, it would be a different story.

My Canadian build DA62 (62.C014) did not come with mounting holes with machine screws. Just plastic screws and a hole. I thought at first I got lucky but instead it was a pricy job to have them put in. Now, they work great and I love having them.
