Re: New here, insurance question
I reached out to COPA (Canadian AOPA?) for an insurance quote, they told me this: "The underwriter requires a total time of 500 hours and an IFR before he will consider offering full coverage on this make and model. Currently, we can only offer our Silver coverage that offers Not-in-Motion Hull with liability."

That's outrageous. You now understand why I've been trying to get a US insurer to insure me directly... The policy COPA sold me is underwritten by AIG, but AIG or US brokers won't sell me the same policy.LimaZulu wrote: ↑Thu Dec 01, 2022 6:47 pm I reached out to COPA (Canadian AOPA?) for an insurance quote, they told me this: "The underwriter requires a total time of 500 hours and an IFR before he will consider offering full coverage on this make and model. Another Canadian broker who's been helpful in the past is https://sierraassurance.com/en .
