TKS lines of outer porous panel disconnected

Post by NestorOrtman »

During the operational test of the de-icing system, we found disconnected TKS lines (P/N TTF35132 Hoses) from both outer de-icing porous panels (RH & LH wings).
We could reconnect and reseal the LH hose removing Stall warning (P/N 187-2) from the leading edge but this is not possible in the RH wing because there is no access to the RH wing hose
To reconnect the RH hose, we did an access in the lower wing surface near the Hose connection. This hole is a Class 2 damage (IAW AMM 51-10). After that, we performed the operational test successfully.

We needed the drawing of the lower surface with the layers arrangements of the damaged area to close the hole. In order to perform this work we requested the necessary information from DIAMOND TECHNICAL SUPPORT.

We should have special precautions when working near the porous panel. We used a cover film to evite that particles or resin plug up the porous. If you damage the porous panel during the reparation perhaps you need to replace the P/N and that can entail great costs.

Note 1: Drawings obtained from technical support are applicable only to Aircraft S/N solicited.
Note 2: To repaint the affected zone you should follow the AMM's last revision procedure.
Note 3: You can use FOAM ELEMENT P/N D60-2521-00-01 to do the reparation´s foam core. There are made from the same raw material (AIREX C71.55 or H60).
Note 4: Reseal hoses with DIAMOND-approved seal compound.

THIS POST IS ONLY FOR REFERENCE. THIS IS NOT PRETENDING TO BE A REPAIR SCHEME. YOU SHOULD ALWAYS CONTACT WITH TECHNICAL SUPPORT.

:) This is my first post here and I hope that you like it and be useful. I am waiting for your comments. :D

Regards from Argentine.

Which model of Diamond was this and what year was it made? How did the hoses become disconnected?

This is a Canadian DA42 TDI made about 2006 or 2007. We couldn´t determine the nature of the issue, this plane has been parked for 5 years.
