New G1000 NXi Software Updates

Post by CFIDave »

This morning Diamond posted MSBs for the DA62, DA42, DA40NG, and DA40XLT describing the availability of new software for G1000 NXi flight decks.

For the DA62, DA40NG, and DA40XLT:
This new software does NOT include the promised NXi Phase III or any new features/functionality. Instead, it seems to provide support for Garmin's revised hardware versions of G1000 LRUs that had been previously certified for these aircraft, including the GTX345R transponder, GDL69A SXM satellite weather and radio, and GDC72 air data computer. I'm guessing that this software was needed for Diamond to continue producing and delivering new aircraft, since Garmin may have stopped producing the previous hardware versions of these LRUs.

For the DA42 NG/-VI:
The new software DOES provide NXi Phase III new software features and functions. It also includes support for newer hardware (such as the GWX 75 weather radar) with improved functionality.
