This warning also doesn't apply to the DA42-VI model. (I learned this when I owned a 2013 DA42-VI.)FlyingPenguin wrote: ↑Sun May 21, 2023 10:26 pm See AFM warming. Hope that makes sense.
So, this is for the DA42. DA62 fuel system is setup slightly different. It has a Bypass valve in the fuel line next to the low pressure pump, maybe that’s why the DA62 is different?
Crossfeeding with fuel pumps on?

Perhaps things have changed through time, as this warning applies to my 2023 DA42-VI.CFIDave wrote: ↑Sun May 21, 2023 11:11 pmThis warning also doesn't apply to the DA42-VI model. No -- The warning does not apply to any DA42-VI, from 2012 on, including yours. Make sure you're referring to the 7.01.16E version of the DA42NG AFM that's specific to the "dash six" version of the DA42:FlyingPenguin wrote: ↑Sun May 21, 2023 11:59 pmPerhaps things have changed through time, as this warning applies to my 2023 DA42-VI.CFIDave wrote: ↑Sun May 21, 2023 11:11 pmThis warning also doesn't apply to the DA42-VI model. and not to the 7.01.15E AFM version (quoted earlier in this DAN thread) that applies only to the 2009-2012 DA42NG. The 7.01.15E AFM does not apply to your "dash six."

Looking at the 7.01.16E, it has the bypass valve just like the DA62. Since there is a difference between the models, the checklist that I posted that came with my plane is incorrect than. It’s shows pump off, than crossfeed.
Thank you Dave for this info!

Re: Crossfeeding with fuel pumps on?
Dave and Peter, thanks for the info.
The word bypass is only mentioned once in any fuel system description in the 42-VI AFM (section 7.9.5). Guessing that's the bypass valve Dave was talking about (no other mention in the AFM)

Re: Crossfeeding with fuel pumps on?
The DA62 AFM abnormal checklist for low fuel expressly says to turn the fuel pump ON before crossfeeding.
