Is my aircraft un-Airworthy???

Post by Steve »

Out flying today, I was reading all of the instrument panel placards - don't ask me why - I wasn't bored, and I've read them all many times before. But today, I noticed something alarming:
Fuel Gauge placard
Fuel Gauge placard
There is a misspelling - "diference" vice "difference". I hope I don't get ramp checked. It only took me 22 1/2 years to spot this... ;)

Don't you wonder how things like this get by so many people?

Well, my aircraft was built in Austria. English as a second language?

I checked mine - a 2003 built in Canada. Difference is spelled correctly on the placard, so someone noticed and made the change by then. Interesting.

2003 build in Canada with correct 17Gal, probably yours was a calculation error made in Austria.

Thomas;

No, the 15 gallon max reading is correct on my aircraft. For some reason, the later SNs read up to 17 gallons. I was commenting on the spelling error.
