Re: XPlane Simulated ForeFlight and FlightStream Syncing
I just uploaded same version, but updated test period. I'll see about cleaning this app up, fix the UI, and re-test again, then if all good will try and publish it to the app store. In the meantime, this is current build is good for 90 days. Here is an invite for new testers:

Would love you feed back.

Re: XPlane Simulated ForeFlight and FlightStream Syncing
What am I supposed to see? I see you mention something about cleaning the UI. What UI? Here's my steps and the result.
Download the app through Testflight
Start the app.
Get the prompt about connecting and say yes.
Results:
Blank page saying "Flight Stream X" at the top, "Beacon:" with a local IP address
No Share to panel in Foreflight.
And yes, Foreflight, you app, and x-Plane are all on the same network and Foreflight is connected to x-Plane. I'm not using a Diamond in x-Plane so I'm using the stock 172 G1000.

I'm seeing the same behavior (no change in X-Plane FPL) that Mark describes.midlifeflyer wrote: Sun Jan 05, 2025 2:55 pm What am I supposed to see? I see you mention something about cleaning the UI. What UI? Here's my steps and the result.

Re: XPlane Simulated ForeFlight and FlightStream Syncing
Are you able to share the flight plan with app? You may have to click more and find the app the first time you share from Foreflight.
Here is a short video

There really isn’t a UI yet. The app basically has to be running and connect to the Xplane beacon as you indicated. I need to add some details on how to use it in the UI.
I just ended up republishing this version, I’ll debug it next week and see if something has changed and report back.

Re: XPlane Simulated ForeFlight and FlightStream Syncing
Seems that IOS 18 has broken the Share extension for ForeFlight. It seems to be a known issue -- Im looking into it.

Re: XPlane Simulated ForeFlight and FlightStream Syncing
Edit: just saw your post about the broken share option. I do get Share in Foreflight, but Flight Stream X is not am available option.
iPad Mini 6 with latest updates.
First, I didn't realize that it was a file share. But knowing that now, the issue is that Flight Stream X does not appear in the sharing options, not even "More..." Nor can I seem to enable that capability through anything I've seen in the iOS Setting app.ingramleedy wrote: Mon Jan 06, 2025 7:34 am Are you able to share the flight plan with app? Re: XPlane Simulated ForeFlight and FlightStream Syncing
Ok, got a new version that hopefully has been fixed for IOS 18. I spent such much time debugging the IOS 18 issue, didnt have much time to fix the interface. I accidently changed the minor version to 1.1.0 and it has to go to Apple for approval before you will see it for testing. Stay tuned. Should be within a day or two hopefully.

Re: XPlane Simulated ForeFlight and FlightStream Syncing
Just ran a few iterations. Here's what I have.
1. The transfer works with the XP12 stock pseudo G1000 and GNS. It does not work with the Reality XP GTN.
2. It does not work with Garmin Pilot (I have both GP and Foreflight). That's just because the GP export file content is different. As you know, Foreflight exports a fairly simple xml file. The Pilot file is is a little more well... I can't attach the file itself but I've attached a graphic of KTTA RDU.DRONE2 KORF viewed in Notepad++. 3. When you transfer the file, it comes out as a series of waypoints with no information. Once you either go Direct to a waypoint or activate a leg (basically activating the flight plan), the rest of the data (courses, distances, etc) fill-in. 4. If you load a SID or STAR in the Foreflight flight plan, the FPL file unpacks it into its series of waypoints. IOW, the RDU.DRONE2 arrival comes in as RDU-TYI-DEEND-CVI-DRONE rather than as the named arrival.
5. Unlike the STAR, a loaded approach does not transfer at all. Not as an approach package and not as a series of waypoints. Not even if you unpack the route in Foreflight before sharing it. The FPL I send from foreflight included the KORF RNAV 32 from HELBA.

Re: XPlane Simulated ForeFlight and FlightStream Syncing
I just tried with a non-Laminar aircraft -- the Aerobask DA50RG (which BTW is quite a good implementation -- and it worked fine, with similar observations to Mark's:
-- SIDs transfer as waypoints, but the procedure is lost (I'm guessing the same for STARs)
-- Approaches get some waypoints, but the procedure (including in this case a HILPT) is lost
Nevertheless, very useful app! Ingram, many thanks!
