Flight recording with the G1000

Post by Gnomad »

Hi Dan!

Many years since I’ve posted here. Used to participate a lot when I was flying a DA40 and DA42.

Recently have been renting a DA40ng and am trying to remember the data card process, for recording the flights, so I can import them to Google Earth later at home. (Pics attached)

My simple question is…which slot does my formatted card go into on the G1000? No dumb questions right? Haha

My trickier question is…does anyone know what size card and file format is needed? I seem to remember the G1000 being finicky about this. It’s been almost a decade now and data cards have changed quite a bit since then.

It’s a 2021 DA40ng leaseback that nobody at the flight school seems to know much about and since it’s not my plane, I didn’t want to do the trial and error thing. 😬

So happy to have access to a DA40 again….love that plane!

Thanks!

Eric

Top slot.

I think anything up to 32GB will work.

The above "top slot" answers are for the MFD (probably obvious, but not explicitly mentioned above).
