2023 DA42 VI for sale

Post by Nikandsteve »

She’s a beauty, professionally flown and maintained but taking delivery of a SF50 today so time for her next home. Amazing daily driver or use it to build multi, retractable time for next step!

Congrats on your new plane.
If you don't mind me asking, why'd you buy a Cirrus SF50 jet, since you're migrating from a Diamond twin instead of from a Cirrus SR22 like most SF50 buyers? The SF50 performance falls far short of Epic or TBM turboprop performance (speed, climb rate, payload, etc.) while burning more fuel.

(Since the SF50 is often getting in the way of other aircraft on arrival/departure procedures, ATC likes to say it's called the "Vision Jet" only because it imagines itself to be a jet. ;))

We had a 2018 SR22T that just came out of warranty so we sold it in January. The Diamond was phenomenal for checking off insurance boxes for a bigger plane, building multi-time and retractable gear time which insurance wanted to see. It’s amazing for 2-3 people but we have more pax.

The SF50 w/chute and safe return was a no brainer for our mission w/all maintenance covered under Jet Stream and with so much SR22T time it was an easy transition. Once you fly in one there is no comparison to the spacious cabin. We considered a M600 w/autoland but it is so cramped. If $ was no object a Pilatus fits the bill but that’s a whole different price point. (Blaze gets to fly a Pilatus for work though and it’s an incredible machine). Lots of cool planes out there for sure! Just personal preference I guess after trying a few and owning both Cirrus & Diamond.

Out of curiosity, does SF50 feature the same spring-loaded side stick as SR22 or it's something more sophisticated?

It’s true side control stick, rather than a side yoke with higher control force. Not sure about springs!

No damn springs on the SF50. It flies very similar to a Diamond. It even has a trim wheel.

Please come back and report on the vision jet once you have some hours on it! And make some videos. Diamond twin --> Vision jet is my dream as well.
