Hello,
Did some of you already experience the fact of not having any fresh air coming out of one air-vent on the dashboard?
This is my case on the right hand side. I checked with a light if something is wrong with the lever to close it, but everything is OK.
So I think that something is wrong on the other side of the boa! I looked in the IPC and find the following illustration:
I'm asking myself how I can checked this and especially re-attach it.
Can I reach this from the outside? Or is it only from the inside?
Thank you!
Arnaud.

The panel vent is fed from the NACA vent on the side of the fuselage. There is a large diameter SCAT tube that connects it to the vent. The diagram you posted shows the ducting for the heater and defroster, not the fresh air vents. You can check behind the instrument panel to see if it has become disconnected. Also, make sure that the door in the vent assembly is opening when you move the lever - I've had a couple of these fail over the years.

How stupid I am! Of course, it is not the heater...
I checked the door in the vent is working great, the problem is somewhere else.
I will check where it is connected because I don't have NACA vent on the fuselage, maybe because my plane is a early version. I only have NACA vent under the wings below the trailing edges. But I though that these ones were connected to the rear fresh air vent, maybe one NACA (left or right) for the front and the other for the rear...
Thank you again.
Arnaud.

Re: Air distribution - Right front seat
It looks like your venting system has this configuration (from the AMM):
Strangely, this is the only diagram and it is not accurate for any made after 2001. (There is a mere passing textual reference to the current configuration.) The question is whether the right vent ever worked properly for you. Note that it's at the tail end of the distribution path. If any rear seat vents are open they could be bleeding off the air before much gets to the right front vent.2002 DA40-180: MT, PowerFlow, 530W/430W, KAP140, ext. baggage, 1090 ES out, 2646 MTOW, 40gal., Surefly, Flightstream 210, Orion 600 LED, XeVision, Aspen E5

Very interesting… yes it was working till now.
I will remove the front seats and have a look.
Thank you.

Also remove the instrument panel cover and check out the connection to the vent. Another thing, if you haven't already, is to test it with the rear seat vents all closed.astaib wrote: Tue Jun 11, 2024 3:52 pm Very interesting… yes it was working till now.

And then there's the mouse nests to look for

Hi,
I removed the cover of the dashboard prior removing the seats and it was the good idea because the duct was disengage ...
Strangely during my latest annual visit they has to work in this area for the breakers.... Once again, when someone touch your plane, you have to always check...........

That same duct was loose after the prebuy of my plane. We did a lap in the pattern in the fort worth sun, then immediately landed, taxied the like ten miles back to premier and had them reattach it before we headed west.
