I believe 250mph, but not 100% sure if it's mph or knots. And ground speed of course. Either way, plenty of speed for a piston driver.

Re: Starlink in Diamond
Yesterday I flew with the Mini in the front window of the plane. The Mobile plan did not work because of the speed (as noted above). I upgrade to mobile priority. Seems OK for now.
I tried to put it in the back. It does not seem to work through the fuselage anywhere that I could see. Oh well.
I would love to see pictures of how people have it attached. Im planning on designing a custom bracket that makes it secure... yet easily removable.... well to be clear my mechanical engineer son who is awesome at drawing in 3-d will design it. (I can send you the files for the iPad bracket that I use in my 50... freaking awesome)
I am hoping to have it be flat on the top of the instrument panel... not attached to the window.
So, yes... pictures would be great.

Re: Starlink in Diamond
Alan,
I tried a 3D printed mounting option from a thingiverse file someone had designed. I had two problems with it. 1.) The suction cup mounts did not stick well and the unit would fall down. 2.) The defrost heater actually warped the 3D printed material and it no longer fit the starlink.
Now I just rest the Starlink mini on the dash - in smooth cruise only - with a microfiber cloth in the front, protecting the windscreen.

Re: Starlink in Diamond
As of late last year, the Roam Package (50GB package at $50/mo) was limited to 100mph. Does anyone know if the "priority" package at $250/mo works at higher speeds?

It does (see discussion earlier in the thread for more details).bdbogle wrote: Wed Jan 08, 2025 3:59 pm As of late last year, the Roam Package (50GB package at $50/mo) was limited to 100mph. Does anyone know if the "priority" package at $250/mo works at higher speeds?

I removed the magnet things and I used double sided tape.

Re: Starlink in Diamond
What about some metal pads stuck onto the top of the glareshield to receive the antenna. Something like this.
Discreet when you're not using it and serves as a base to put the antenna up there with magnetic feet

Might want to be careful if you have a whiskey compass mounted anywhere nearby...neema wrote: Wed Jan 22, 2025 6:34 pm Discreet when you're not using it and serves as a base to put the antenna up there with magnetic feet

Re: Starlink in Diamond
Indeed. I was thinking of something on the weaker side. Akin to what mobile devices already have built in. Something to help gravity hold it down
I'm still curious if the nose doors are GRFP. It'd be neat to stuff a starlink on one side and run a dedicated wire to it. Saves the clutter
