Hi guys. What oil should I use for my next annual?

What do you guys use?

Liqui Moly Austro (Black bottle) or Aeroshell Oil Diesel Ultra (Red bottle)?

For your next annual on the DA62, Liqui Moly Austro Engine Oil (black bottle) is the recommended choice. This oil is specifically approved by Austro Engine for use in the AE300 series engines used in the DA62.

While Aeroshell Oil Diesel Ultra (red bottle) is a high-quality diesel engine oil, it is not on Austro’s approved oil list. Using an unapproved oil could potentially void warranty coverage or raise concerns during maintenance and inspections.

This is not correct. Aeroshell Oil Diesel Ultra (5W-30) is on the approved oil list. (both DA62 AFM and Austro OPs)

DSC in Fort Worth uses Aeroshell because of the availability. The Liqui Moly is harder to come by in the United States.

We use Aeroshell Oil Diesel Ultra (5W-30), however, here in Australia its price has surged about 20% in the last 18 months.

Anyone used Shell Helix Ultra or Castrol Edge 5W-30?
Both are at my local Auto shop and way cheaper.

LiquiMoly 5w-40 is readily available on Amazon for $45/5L jug. Cheap and free shipping. I've bought it several times from Amazon and always arrives in a few days.

Doesn't matter that Austro isn't printed on the label, its the same oil, same specs. Just doesn’t have the added cost of being an "airplane oil".
