G1000 Engine Instruments Red X on power-up

I am getting red X's for all of the engine instruments upon G1000 power-up, prior to engine start. The problem has been intermittent over the last several flights but is now much worse.
I have a fairly new sealed Concorde battery that stays on a battery minder while in the hangar.
The red X's appear upon G1000 boot-up and will only go away after a power cycle. One try used to do it, but the last flight took 4 or so power cycles to boot up clean. In my hangar last night, it never went away. If it powers up OK without the X's I am good for the flight. We don't have an avionics shop on the field so I would like to check some basics before calling somebody out. I have read the posts about re-seating connectors and I have purchased some high grade electrical contact cleaner. If it's an issue with the GEA 71, from what I read that is under the baggage compartment? I can pull, clean, and re-seat that. Is there anything else I should check short of going through all of the sensors?
