Re: Time for TKS to Coat Wings
At the risk of thread drift, how do you deal with the dripping TKS fluid in the hangar for weeks after their last use. They usually drip 2-3 days roughly. My current hangar doesn't care (old concrete floor, full of prehistoric oil drippings etc), in the one I used earlier I put some trays underneat...

Re: Time for TKS to Coat Wings
I’m puzzled with this low pressure warning. Is it normal/expected behavior or it happens just occasionally on some aircrafts? It tends to happen sometimes. Then it goes away. But panels work. Also keep in mind if OAT is over 20C this will happen too. It's mentioned in the plane's manual. Warm fluid...

Re: Time for TKS to Coat Wings
For my DA62 it also varies from time to time. Two days back I flew and all panels worked nicely as should be. Today, on return trip, left wing was missing couple of panels. Some days its been vice versa on wings. When I initially got the plane, I tried to run all panels wet and once it took a looooo...

Re: DA62 iPad Mount
Using the new Ipad mini and factory mount. Perfect size and fits nicely.
Larger ipad is too big for me too, as Wayne pointed out.

Re: AOG - RH fuel indicator acting up
Mine is actually acting up. It works some times and when it does, the indication is correct. The first time I noticed was indeed after an IMC flight with some icing. But I had done quite a bit of IMC/icing before as well with no issues. So exactly what happened to me too. Was ok the first year, the...

Re: AOG - RH fuel indicator acting up
Had a similar incident with mine. RH side stopped working (or worked now and then, mostly not, or showed bad readings). The culprint was some TKS or moisture in the probe's circuitboard. I heard the new version of the probe fixed this issue. Or you just have faulty probe to beging with. Did this sta...

Re: Park Brake issue
An unofficial fix for this is to install a piece of tubing over the Bowden Cable. The issue is when the parking brake lever is pushed in against without releasing the brake by stepping on them, the Bowden Cable gets a kink and your are going nowhere. The tubing prevents the kinking. The "unoff...

Re: Park Brake issue
So, basically, IF it happens again, the fix is to disassembly part of the center console where the lever is and straighten the cable? Not super willing to start doing such thing but I guess, if stuck on remote airfield, this is an option too to consider? Sending the technician to the field could pot...

Re: Park Brake issue
Posting a bit on this older thread. My DA62 hasn't experienced parking brake issues for the first 1.5 years but now this has happened twice already. Luckily both of the times the plane has been on home base and maintenance is on the field, but it has stopped us from flying. I dont want to think if t...
