Re: Alternator slow to wake up

Hi one last call before I have the voltage regulator replaced. The alternator refurb shop my mechanic uses thought that the alternator might have a weak spring in it so we pulled it and sent it back. He replaced the brushes and bearings but thought it otherwise looked fine. Re-installed on the airpl...

Nice new DA40 photo for the forum! He has the corked nosewheel just like I did in this recent photo.

Did you take the wheel fairings off?

Re: Ipad Mini Mount Recommendations for DA 40

Just curious, but I believe you can get most or all of your instrument rating in your DA-20 depending on how it is equipped if you want to save some money and get it done more quickly. Downside is that you won't get any 'actual' and some of your ATC communications will be 'simulated' (like they woul...

Re: DA40 WAAS Upgrade Demand

Is 'already upgraded' a needed response or will you pull this information from the excel tracking from a couple of years ago?

By your aircraft registration, you have a 2012 model, correct? The new baffle design would have long since been included by this year I believe. I am not an expert so somebody please correct me.

Re: G1000 NXi Phase III

I believe I asked before but I will be skeptical until I see it - will GDU Version 15 support the KAP? It would be re-assuring to get a recent confirmation. Yes, GDU v 15 will support KAP140. In addition, it will support different versions of GIA63W (not only -01). It will not support GIA63. Thank ...

Re: G1000 NXi Phase III

I'm rather curious as to the discussion on the DA-40-180 XLT. I hadn't heard that they were even doing NXi upgrades for the DA-40-180s, much less that there would be a Phase 3. Heck, I don't believe we have even an update for the original G1000 past the "0321.23" release from December 201...

Re: Heater lever changes the altitude

There is a good article in the March, 2021 issue of EAA Sport Aviation on pitot/static issues, which gives an example which duplicated your symptoms exactly. Static line leak within the cabin was the cause. I found the article - interesting - may also be the cause of my low IAS after installing the...
