DA40NG Performance
Back in 2007 I purchased a DA40 and flew that plane over 400 hrs. I loved the handling of the DA40 and my wife took her VFR flight training in our plane. I sold the DA40 years back and at this time I have a Lancair ESP. The Lancair is amazing aircraft. I installed dual electronic ignitions along wit...

Re: New Nose Wheel Fin
I am still here. I still produce the fins, I have just been busy building my new hangar. I am making a run of fins this next week so if anyone wants one let me know and I can ship out next week.

Re: Gained 5 knots, not sure why?
Also, If I could get a stc on a wheel pant I would make them for DA40 pilots, but the cost to get the STC would make the wheel pant way too expensive.

I still have the fins and help diamond pilots. I did sale my da40 a few years back and move to a lancair for cross country flying, but I still think diamond products are one of the best flying aircraft made.

Arnaud, That placement is fine and should work well. Remember the trim tab on the rudder. you may have to adjust the tab from your stock position.

Re: Engine Vibration and Exhaust Noise at Low Power Settings
Did your mechanic check the resistance in your plugs? If they are more than 5000 ohms resistance through them out. When I had my DA40 i used tempest fine wire plugs. If mags seems to run rough always check plugs and wires first. Champion plugs will fail much quicker than tempest do to the type of re...

Re: Front wheel shimmying on landing
Take the wheel pant off and tighten the nut that holds the wheel and caster assembly to the nose wheel strut. I had a 2003 DA40 and mine did the same thing.

Re: New Nose Wheel Fin
Al Simmons received his fin. We designed a new fin to replace the original design fin to fit the 2001-2003 and the diesel DA, so that was the hold up.

Re: New Nose Wheel Fin
Arnaud, Check the trim tab on your rudder. If the trim tab has a bend in it then the fin will help you because your plane may show the ball centered but that is because the rudder is taking the yaw out because of the trim tab. I suggest removing the trim tab and make a flight in cruise flight. If yo...
