Eek. I understand it's a new airframe and there have got to be gaps in teaching, and potentially gotchas in manufacturing, but... isn't this a sizable percentage of all DA50 airframes manufactured to date?
Is there a way to get the dongle without going through the long / expensive Austro engine course? The shop checked the data that was logged, but it was non-specific. Maybe with a live run-up it would be specific, but at that point I didn't have the parameter out of spec (i.e. ECU was not in a failed...
To follow up, the shop checked the logs. It was an unspecified "failure during run up due to a parameter being out of bounds". It did not sound concerning to them, unless it keeps happening and does not clear as per procedure.
Does it always happen in the same area? There are, for example, GPS anomalies that happen in the vicinity of KSMO — for years, I've lost ADS-B coverage due to a loss of GPS at around 1300 AGL, and even had full GPS loss during an approach (fortunately in visual conditions). The airport even had gone...
Thanks for the replies. I'm glad to hear that this is not something related to the cool-down period (it didn't seem likely to me, but was the only difference in behavior in both circumstances). I don't have A/C, so it's not related to that. As the failure was non-latched (the warning went away after...
Hi folks. Twice over the last year, while doing the run-up, I've received an ECU fail message (I think both times was ECU B). The test proceeds as normal but the ECU B FAIL message does not go away upon the run-up completion. Running the run-up again only performs the runup on the working ECU (I thi...
Does anyone else feel like we're getting away with free fuel, by the way? Unlike 100LL which counts in tenths, I think all Jet-A pumps (or at least all the trucks) count in whole gallons. I figure on average that must mean I'm getting a half a gallon for free with every fill-up.
https://aviation-safety.net/wikibase/308928 From the ground track and eyewitness reports it sounds like some sort of an impossible turn type situation. The post crash fire is the third or fourth in recent memory in our airplanes, after basically none before that I'd heard of. Very saddened for the o...
