Re: Rear door seal replacement?
Rich, great idea, just not for a regional airport in southern Germany like EDMA... I have to walk what feels like 500ft to get a bucket of water from the nearest sink to clean the bugs off the wings, so I'll have to see how to get the plane next to a water hose... It will have to be at another airpo...

How is water coming into the rear foot wells?
Thanks for the replies. After having found some nice looking white rubber seals at the local building center I now think the water is not coming through the rear door. So I did not install those seals as of yet... I had covered the Canopy with a thin cover from "ISS-Protect" last Wednesday...

Rear door seal replacement?
I own a 2007 DA42, converted into a NG in 2010. Total time now is around 2650hrs. Normally my plane is hangared but when traveling I now noted for the second time a soaking wet floor behind the pilots seat after the plane sat for a day or two outside in the rain. To me the rear door seal looks fine,...

Re: New Owner - advice on configuration
"As noted by others, this isn't true. The GTX345R will pick up most ADS-B Out targets directly aircraft-to-aircraft, independently of any ground stations or radar coverage. When I'm flying in the Bahamas, I see lots of ADS-B targets despite the lack of any ground ADS-B infrastructure in the isl...

Re: 1,800 Hr Inspection Costs
Emir, thanks for the explanaton, but not so sure about "pilestocking". Seems like at present the wait time for an engine (be it overhauled or replaced) is around 18 months or more .. Any idea what is then done with the old engine? If we now have to buy new, do we have to send back the old ...

Re: Interested in a Powered LEMO Adapter?
Has anyone tried your adapter in a DA42? I have a 2007 DA42Tdi converted to NG, and (I thought to be future proof) I bought Bose A20s with Bluetooth and Lemo connectors, and also bought some duel plug to Lemo adapter cords. Unfortunately those have molded connectors so I can't just open them to try ...

Re: Is AE300 TBO mandatory?
Ed, thanks! I've been following Mike Busch for I think more than 20 years. I recall an analysis he made of NTSB reports on forced landings due to engine failures, and if I recall right 50% of those where either new engines max 20hrs old, or engines having had maintanance within the previous 5 hrs. I...

Re: DA42-6 Airworthiness Limitations / Engine TBO
Dave, Steve, Tim, thanks for your replies. Again we do not use our N-reg aircraft in Europe commercially. So I understand we do not need a 100hr inspection as per the FAA. However I now understand you in saying that Diamond requires a 100hr inspection and as such we have to do it? In our case the ne...

Re: Is AE300 TBO mandatory?
Dave, thanks. I searched the Austro engine section for TBO but could not find anything, probably did not look or search right.... I'll have to ask our shared ownership company for further clarification. One argument so far was that the FAA certification is based on the EASA certification which seem ...
