Re: Saying goodbye to my trusty DA40
Had to say goodbye to my DA40 today. The upside is that I know it's going to a good home in Placerville CA. My new ELSA Bristell should be in the U.S. in February. I want to thank all the members who have provided over eight years of fantastic advise and guidance. This forum is a tremendous resource...

Re: Magnetos
Hans, I did my mags at about 600 hrs. I used Aircraft Magneto Service in Montana. The mechanic took the mags out and I sent them for service. I seem to remember paying about $800 to $900 for both to be done. Very quick turn around and great service. I think there's a thread on the forum that discuss...

Re: CHT Probe Cost
Hey Charles,
I had to buy one last December for my 2007. I bought it from Premier in Florida (Brittany Glassman 954-334-2393). Part no. A602BG-WIP. The complete assembly was less expensive than just the probe itself. Cost was $149.60 plus $24.11 shipping. Brittany was very helpful.

Re: Garmin Announcement re ADS-B
Sandy, You're kidding right? Garmin finally comes out with an affordable solution, but it won't work on our planes. Oh wait; I forgot we're dealing with Garmin here. Why offer an affordable solution for all DA40 owners when you can get more money out of them with the 335 and 345. The issue may be mu...

Re: Help updating data on my G1000
Peter,
I did format the card (FAT32) before the first try and no issues. The Rep only had me delete the data file for the second try. I should know by Monday if it works.

Re: Help updating data on my G1000
Bought my annual update of the NavData two days ago and tried to update yesterday. Neither panel would recognize the card (no msg. just completed the normal boot). I've updated many times before and never had this problem. Called Garmin when I got home. The rep had me delete the file on the card, de...
