Re: Diamond DA40 pricing

(Just to add to my above post but past editing time). I was considering ordering a 2020 Lycoming DA-40 model and was expecting some type announcement from Diamond at Oshkosh. That did not happen, so it looks like I will be holding on to my present 2010 DA-40 for awhile which means one less XLS on th...

Re: Diamond DA40 pricing

DA40s are now appreciating assets. Prices are up $20K-$40K since 2 years ago as demand exceeds supply of good used aircraft. With our list of interested buyers, most aircraft sell before ever being advertised publicly. The biggest unmet demand is for 2008+ DA40 XLS models, now selling for more than...

Re: RPM fluctuations

Have you tried turning the aux fuel pump on when this is occurring to see what happens?

I talked to diamond booth staff and we are welcome. Should we meet at 13:00 / 1 pm?
Any updates from the Diamond booth regarding reintroduction of the Lycoming powered DA 40?

Re: Flap indicator lights

This also happened to me a few years ago.(Turning the dimmer down) The good news is, after you figure out what is wrong, it happens to be a very easy fix. :)

Re: Hangar Furniture

It is nice to have some type of a lounge area with table and chairs. Also, small fridge, microwave and coffee maker if you are a coffee drinker.

Re: DA-40 checkride help

Before entering the aircraft, brief the DE as follows: "In the unlikely event of a off-field landing and the aircraft turns over, the forward canopy will not be able to open. Therefore, to exit the plane, one must enter the backseat of the aircraft, release the red handle, (point to the release near...

Re: Corked Nose Wheel

For the longest time I've been looking for the cause of the nosewheel not being stable in a position more aligned with the axis of the plane and I think I've found the main culprit - namely the fact that the lower end of the nosewheel pivot axis angles rearward. By my measurement, with the plane si...

Re: Do I have the 17# Ballast?

I finally was able to get to the hanger, open up the factory sealed box of nose ballast and take a cell photo of it. No wonder why these are so expensive. You are looking at 17 pounds of beautiful stainless steel, not lead like I heard many times on this forum. In addition, each separate plate is in...

Re: Do I have the 17# Ballast?

When I purchased my 2010 XLS from the factory, (with special order 40 gallon tanks) I also requested for factory not to include the 17 pound nose ballast. When they delivered the plane I was surprised to find they still shipped the Ballast to me all boxed up in the back luggage compartment. That sam...
