Re: G1000 KAP 140 NAV to APR transition question

I believe my problem is with the G1000. It indicates that it has "changed nav source" when it makes the switch from term to LNAV. I have activated the approach and the KAP140 it is tracking the approach as is should. Once the G1000 "changes nav source" it dumps the connection to ...

Re: G1000 KAP 140 NAV to APR transition question

I have been having trouble with the KAP140 as it behaves fine in NAV mode for cruise flight, but I haven’t been able to get it to fly a GPS approach properly. When flying the GPS approach I get to the IAF with the KAP140 in NAV mode; in the approach it tracks the first leg and I set APR mode. Once i...

Re: Potential New DA62 Owner

Reading this thread and the comparison with the SR22T I wonder, if not a Meridian would be the right comparison. It all depends on the type of flying you want to do. If you want a comfortable aircraft strictly as transportation to fly your family to your destination, with the ability to cruise in p...

Re: WAAS KAP140

wow, is this going to be another software version challenge. I thought that the WAAS upgrade issue for the DA42 was only a hardware availability issue. This is going to be a bigger challenge than I thought. I am about to purchase a 2006 DA42, The price is right but now I'm beginning to see why. The ...

WAAS KAP140

Did anyone upgrade to WAAS with the KAP140 auto pilot? Was it ever possible?

DA42 prop overhaul

What is the cost to overhaul the MT prop on the DA42? I heard someone say that the overhaul was only available in Germany.
What is the price new?

Re: KAP140

It's more likely that you'll have WAAS if you have GFC700. AFAIK there are very few GFC700 installed in non-WAAS DA42 and very few KAP140 upgraded to WAAS. GFC700 has stronger servos that are less likely to fail. DA42 with KAP140 will probably be less expensive but not only because of autopilot - i...

Re: KAP140

I've had planes with both (currently have a GFC700). Beyond some of the minor things (duplicate entry for baro and using a different interface for the G1000 and KAP-140 to set the AP mode), you and your passengers will likely notice very little difference. As I recall (and to be corrected by others...

KAP140

As I am shopping for a DA42, I see many available with the KAP140. I have flown with the GFC700 in my DA40 for over 300hrs and wonder what differences I would notice. I have only heard how much better the GFC700 is(it is an awesome setup) but have never heard any complaints about the KAP140. I would...
