I found it faster and easier to just remove the fairings, but now I’ve just been leaving them in my hangar.
Also, I just got a Ryobi inflator, and it works very well.

Re: DA40 Aviation Consumer Article
The price graph over time, coupled with the weekly letters that I receive seeking to buy my plane, along with the virtual absence of DA40s listed for sale, made me want to ask where I could find the planes used to create the graph.

Re: Squawk Change
Apparently, iOS 13 on the iPhone does not allow uploads to YouTube, so I had to email the video to myself and use my iPad to upload it. You can see the video at https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=uO6ODZfomf8

Re: Squawk Change
It’s actually quite easy to do. On your PFD press TMR/REF. That will open the Timer/Reference window. Turn the outer FMS knob to highlight your Flight ID, then use the inner and outer FMS knobs to change your call sign, making sure that you use your individuality assigned Compassion number. When don...

Re: LED wingtip - Pulsar or Whelen
I would like to replace my position/strobe lights with LEDs, but I didn’t see where there are any that are STC’d. Did I look in the wrong place, or what did others do to legalize their installs?

Congrats, Nigel!
However if Cary Jones, ACF's CFI is simply the best - cool, calm and "collective", as you noted, then perhaps your training was actually in the new (but unannounced) Diamond whirlybird.

Re: Using a hangar winch with a DA40
Has anyone considered connecting a winch to either the wing tie downs (similar to the OP connecting it to the gear legs) or to the nose gear (which is intended to be an attachment point for pushing/pulling the plane using the tow bar) or to some combination of wing tie downs, nose gear, main gear le...

Re: Tower - "Where are you?"
Another thing that I use is OBS mode and CRS when I am approaching an airport and I want to know where I am relative to the final approach course. This is very helpful at a towered airport when the tower clears you to enter on a long base leg. By setting the CRS to the runway heading the course will...
