Re: Madam Secretary
That's funny. I saw it too and commented to my wife. She said "perhaps it is yours". She said that as we have not seen the plane (hardly) since we started the SuperCharger STC. It is hangared several states away. Nah, it couldn't have been yours... no hood scoop sticking up out of the cow...

Re: ADS-B Options for WAAS G1000 with TAS 600
With either GTX345R installation, you can still keep your existing Avidyne TAS600 unit, and the G1000 should be able to correlate TAS600 transponder targets with GTX345R ADS-B IN targets. Are you sure that is indeed the case? I remember eyeing a similar setup and was told that the G1000 would only ...

Re: Non-WAAS G1000 -- ADS-B Future
Are you sure that you shop isn't proposing use of a single new antenna for the GDL-69A and the GPS signal needed for the GTX345R with integral WAAS? If so, there will need to be antenna coax wiring from both your GDL-69A and GTX345R transponder to the shared antenna. That would make more sense, but...

Re: Non-WAAS G1000 -- ADS-B Future
Has anybody installed the GTX-345R+GPS (for non-WAAS planes) alongside the GDL-69A (XM)? My shop is quoting some work to install wiring between the GDL-69A and the GTX-345R, and I'm curious if this is required and whether it will affect XM Weather display on the MFD since our G1000 s/w revisions are...

Re: XM Radio
My questions are: after I do the activation with them via the phone, do I need to "lock" the system? And I don't know how to get the XM radio to actually play over the headphones, assuming that it's working. It's entirely possible that the people at XM have just dropped the ball on this o...

Re: Rear door won't lock
David, congrats on your new aircraft and welcome to the forum! Every DA-40 I've ever flown needs a little jiggle to get the door locks to engage, so make sure it's locking all the way and fully engaged. Really? Our rear door lock seems to engage with a satisfactory thwump, and I would be nervous if ...
