Re: Garmin G-1000 ADS-B solution?

Turns out a fair amount of our questions are answered by Garmin directly, including what "select g1000 systems" are supported. https://buy.garmin.com/en-US/US/in-the-air/general-aviation/transponders/gtx-345r/prod140954.html GTX™ 345R Support for G1000® Aircraft Display of GTX 345R Traffic...

Re: Garmin G-1000 ADS-B solution?

Well, at least we have something now. Interesting though - looks like they (garmin) set the stand to force WAAS owners to hand over all of our money. Where's the GTX33 ES upgrade gone... ($1200) I always got the impression that the GTX33 upgrade was a "time limited offer" . I was going to...

Re: Garmin G-1000 ADS-B solution?

My outstanding questions: Will the DA40 need to a new avionics rack as well? If we pull out the XM weather / "music" (and I use that term loosely) would a new avionics rack be required? How much does a new avionics rack cost in terms of materials and labor? How does this integrate with an ...

GDU1040: flat rate $1400.

The other MFD versions (with garmin autopilot) are 1500 / 1600, depending. I don't recall the model number there.

Re: TAS 600 and g1000 update

We both might be right. Static file for one portion and then a dynamic calibration for the second. Specifics are never really documented anywhere, though I've found good luck reading the experimental g900 and g3x documentation to find out more about the g1000 platform. (g900 is basically the same.) ...

Re: TAS 600 and g1000 update

As far as I know the fuel tank calibration is just measuring the capacitance on the fuel senders at various points of immersion. (i.e., levels of fill.) Factory said we'd need an oscilloscope to test the output when one failed, but I forget the specifics. Written down somewhere... (Base level when e...

Re: TAS 600 and g1000 update

I'm sure you'll get a number of opinions on this matter... Yes, it could be done but you should really take it back to them. If they forgot one thing, they might have forgotten something else. The shop that did my upgrade allowed me to watch and the steps had quite a few verification and checkout st...
